Over the last few years, Ray Pitetti, MD, MPH, FAAP, has been working within our Pittsburgh community to provide presentations, information and discussion opportunities for middle and high school students on cannabis use among youths. This important work, based on honest and non-hyperbolic information, has demonstrated a significant impact in our young and young adult community.
These talks, having received so much positive response, have greatly expanded over the last year. Pitetti, has begun conducting nationally televised webinars as well as presentations to PTAs, school nurses, and teaching staff well beyond the Pittsburgh region. His in-person presentations to students in middle and high schools have also been met with great success.
Pitetti, Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, as well as the Medical Director of Patient Safety at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, plans to continue to expand these efforts over the coming year or more. Join us in congratulating and supporting this impactful community work.
And follow Pitt Pediatrics on Bluesky for future updates on faculty community engagement.
