The Genetics, Genomics, and Growth Center

The Genetics, Genomics, and Growth Center (G3C) at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is dedicated to advancing bold, transformative science to improve the health and well-being of children diagnosed with genetic conditions and disorders.

We are driven by a singular vision: to uncover how genes and the environment interact to shape a child’s growth, development, and health from prior to birth to across their entire lives. Through cutting-edge research in molecular genetics, genomics, developmental biology, and systems science, we seek to understand the earliest biological processes that influence disease and well-being.

By investing in foundational discovery, empowering interdisciplinary collaboration, and embracing the principles of open science, we aim to:

  • Reveal how early-life biology shapes health outcomes across the lifespan
  • Create new strategies for preventing, diagnosing, and treating childhood disease
  • Build a healthier future for children, families, and generations to come

The G3C stands at the forefront of pediatric genetics and genomics research, where collaboration meets innovation, and where today’s discoveries become tomorrow’s breakthroughs in child health.
