Hannah Sahud, MD
- Assistant Professor, Division of Child Advocacy
- Outpatient Clinical Director
- Director, Child Abuse Initiative
Medical School at The Chicago Medical School, Residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital, Northwestern in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Sahud practiced as a general pediatrician for 17 years before transitioning to becoming a gen-CAP and working with the Child Advocacy Division. She focuses on education for general providers (pediatricians, ED providers, family practice providers) to identify and assess concerns of child abuse. Dr. Sahud recognizes that communication is the key to everything and work extensively on communication between providers and families and between providers and Child Protection Services as well as communication among various care providers and anyone else who needs to speak to one another in these cases.
Dr. Sahud has published on safe sleep, on the effect of having McDonalds’ restaurants in Children’s Hospitals, on the efficacy of skeletal surveys in older children and has papers pending in other aspects of child abuse. Dr. Sahud has twice been listed as one of Pittsburgh’s top Doctors in the Pittsburgh magazine annual report of best pediatricians. Dr. Sahud has received the “Helper Award” on three separate occasions for her work with the ACCYF and Erie CHECS nurses.
