Leslie Kathleen Walsh Cyprych, MS, MPH, CGC

Leslie KW Cyprych, MS, MPH, CGC, joined UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh as a genetic counselor in 2017. She is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Biology in 2010. She earned her Master of Science in Human Genetics and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017. Prior to joining UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Leslie worked for 7 years in a world-renown genetic testing laboratory, where she performed and analyzed genetic tests and co-managed the Microarray/Copy Number Testing department. Leslie’s clinical interests include general pediatrics, cardiovascular, and postmortem genetics. Leslie is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling, is a licensed genetic counselor in the state of Pennsylvania, and is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors. She has co-authored publications in several journals including Molecular Genetics & Genomic Medicine, Genetics in Medicine, and American Journal of Medical Genetics. In 2020, Leslie won the Association of Genetic Counseling Program Directors Outstanding Clinical Supervisor Award, which recognizes the invaluable contributions clinical supervisors make to training the next generation of genetic counselors. In 2023, Leslie was recognized as a finalist for the Heart of Genetic Counseling Award, which pays tribute to distinguished genetic counselors who provide exceptional and irreplaceable care to families dealing with major health challenges.
